The landscape of El Grao de Castellón, its tradition, and Mediterranean flavors are the inspiration for this restaurant located in an incomparable setting facing the sea. Vitale carries out a comprehensive design project, including interior design and corporate strategy, resulting in a business that blends past and present in a family-oriented, eclectic, and festive environment. The project revives culinary traditions while embracing a slow philosophy, where traditional local dishes explore new trends, and guests interact in a cozy, unhurried environment designed for savoring food and enjoying good company.
Under this philosophy, communal tables, benches, and other more intimate areas provide flexible solutions for a wide variety of needs and users. The design considers diverse audiences, where both the elderly and children can coexist harmoniously. The restaurant includes a reading corner (perfect for entertaining children) and a lounge area to extend the after-meal moments.
The restaurant is designed as an extension of the environment, fully open to the outside to merge the terrace and interior. The façade facing the sea is modulated using a folding glass enclosure that opens entirely, expanding the business’s potential based on the weather conditions throughout the year.
Metal tubular structures decorate the ceilings in the central area, providing visual dynamism with intersecting lines. These structures are also used to cover the columns and organize the space while acting as dividers and offering privacy in the seating areas.
The aesthetic and materials used establish a dialogue between tradition and modernity. It evokes early 20th-century beach huts with their characteristic colorful stripes and employs nautical lamps. For the furniture, natural and noble materials such as oak wood and marble are selected.

Location: Grao de Castellón
The location occupies part (185 m²) of the lower floor of a hotel, situated in a privileged spot parallel to the Mediterranean Sea, just a few meters from the beach. The restaurant is arranged with the diners seated perpendicular to the sea to allow the enjoyment of the landscape.
The branding for this restaurant combines tradition, modernity, and a cosmopolitan flair, aligning with its healthy cuisine concept and bistro inspiration. The name “Rico” and “Ri&Co” conveys flavor and approachability, with a lexical play introducing the anglicized term “& Company.” The visual identity draws inspiration from classic beach huts, evoking the Mediterranean lifestyle and slow philosophy. The color palette reinforces these values: turquoise symbolizes freshness and the sea, beige adds warmth, emerald conveys vitality, and strawberry introduces a vibrant accent. The typographic combination merges tradition and clarity, creating a versatile, elegant, and timeless image.
