The L’Alcora Ceramic Museum (located in the town of L’Alcora, Castellón) has an area of 185 m². Vitale’s project includes the design of exhibition furniture in coherence with the expansion of the museum’s space in the new building. The proposal offers functional and simple solutions that allow the displayed pieces to stand out in the rooms and facilitate the understanding of the exhibition space.
The design examines the interior dimensions of the museum, the communication between the different rooms, lighting, and specific exhibition needs. A dialogue is created with the building’s irregular layout, using it as inspiration to propose inclined partition walls and exhibition furniture that integrates elements with the architectural space in a dynamic way.
The proposed exhibition system offers great versatility, which facilitates both the maintenance and the rotation of the collections. Special attention has been given to accessibility and the visitor experience: the informational texts are positioned at an appropriate height to ensure comfortable reading for wheelchair users and children.

The existing exhibition furniture had poor lighting, and the informational texts were placed too low, making them difficult to read. The new museum rooms were almost finished in terms of the enclosures when Vitale received the commission. The rooms were completed after the exhibition furniture design was done and the exhibition planning was carried out.
